Question: Do you know what pointillism is!? Can someone get carpel tunnel from it!?

I think I got a bad case of carpal tunnel making these… they are all pen and ink… these two are the first of a series of five that I have done!. All together there is about 35 hours of work in all five… when I get the other three on my deviant I will post them here for comment… for now I would like to know what you think of these…

If those images were created with pen and ink, that technique is called stippling, not pointillism!.

Pointillism is an impressionistic style where small dots or strokes of color are placed in such a way that the effect leads to "visual color mixing!." When you stand back from a pointillist work, your eyes blend the dots visually to the appearance of more solid colors!.

And artists can get carpal tunnel or tendonitis if they work without taking breaks, do really tight work, hold their pen/pencil/brush too rigidly, or work with a highly repetitive stroke or application!.

I have carpal tunnel stage 3 (surgery is next) and my hand will often fall completely asleep after 5-10 minutes of working!. That can be trouble if I drop a wet brush where it doesn't belong, or drop a piece of a pastel into the tall grass while working outdoors!Www@QuestionHome@Com
