Question: Have you ever went to take image somewhere and forgotten something !?
I always tend to forget my CF card !. One time my dad found these blue headed spider big fangs and he told me i can take some shots of them !. So i went grabbed my camera and started to snap away , though what i didn't realize is i didn't have my CF card and my canon didn't record any of those shots !. So i went to go get it and they got away !. Another time i was out taking shots of lighting and i grabbed my camera and i took a shot and i got nice big lighting strike all in focus and everything and i realized i didn't have my CF card again !. Though i did get another shot of lighting 30 minutes later but it was a puny one and not that impressive ( here it is if you want to see it : http://www!.flickr!.com/photos/annafur/262!.!.!. ) I was mad at myself , now i always check to see if my card is in my camera before i start to take shots of stuff :)

I keep the card in the camera at all times except, of course when downloading images!. also I have the camera locked when the card is not in!.

I've gone the store too buy groceries then forget to take it with me, but I usually get as far as the door before remembering it!.

I bought some Ginkgo Biloba a herb that help with mental sharpness but I keep forgetting to take it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, I've forgotten my memory card, but when I try to take a picture, it won't let me!. See if you can set your camera to do that, so you won't go taking pictures without it!.

I have walked off and left things on store counters many times!. Usually it's my cell phone!. I've walked away without my change, but they usually call me back to get it!. And don't even ask how many times I've locked my keys in my car!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I took my dogs for a walk today and brought my camera with me!. There was a beautiful sunset above the mountains, so I turned my camera on!. Of course, as soon as I looked through the viewfinder, there were big words across the screen that said "NO MEMORY CARD!." That made me angry!. I do this pretty often, but the worse time was when I was at a friend's graduation!. I could only get pictures of his after party!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think your shot was good!.
I always always leave my camera in it's fitting case with an extra set of charrged batteries and an extra memory card in a case!.!.!.you never know what in the world could go wrong!. haha!.
Keep up the good work!.

*update* I just looked at all your photos you have online and they are really breath-taking!. You're excellent!. I don't know you or you age or what you're studying, but I hope you do photography for a career or as a side-job!. You are great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I carry one memory card back and forth between home nad the office!. No, this isn't my only card, but what I mean is that I have a camera in the office and one at home!. In order NOT to carry the office camera home, if I've taken any pictures at work, I just bring home the card to print them!. After leaving that card at home a few times, I decided that I'd better get a spare "office" card to leave in my desk!. I've used it 10-12 times, so you know I've forgotten my memory card, too!. I've never gone out "into the field" without a memory card so far!.!.!. I'm sure I will, though!. I tend ot leave them in the card reader and forget about them once I get to working in Photoshop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Fur!

I think you have a menu setting you can use to stop yourself taking photos if you have no memory card in your camera!.!.!. ; )

It helps to work in a disciplined manner - always keep a card in the camera and if you use a card reader, as soon as it's finished the image transfer, put it back again and format it (after you checked the transfer was ok)!.

Yes, I used to have an assistant and I told her to always put stuff back - things like tripod base plates!. I turned out to a job one day a long way away (new client too) and went to set-up!.!.!. oops no tripod base plate! Had to go back and get it of course!.

The general rule in photography is, if it hasn't happened yet it's only a matter of time 'til it does!

BTW lightning is easier to capture if you use a longer exposure - as long as you can - and just keep shooting!. I don't know if you did this for your image but it helps you to capture the moment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
