Question: DeviantArt help!!!?
I wonder what I have to do to get more watchers!. One of my friends said that fan art and professional art are the main things that people will watch you for but there's a problem!. I don't like to draw fan art too much and I don't have the supplies and the skills of a professional artist!. A lot of people say I'm underwatched!. Yes!. Deviantart pretty much is a popularity contest!. I've been on there for five years as well!. Don't draw fanart just because it'll get you more views!. If you really wanna get yourself out there and improve as an artist go somewhere like conceptart!.org!. The people there will give you good advice and good critiques so that you can improve!. Stuff like that is a rarity on DA and it's like pulling teeth to get a good critique!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I think Deviantart has just become a popularity contest anymore!. I've been on the site 5 years this august and it's sort of been on the decline!. The popular people will always get the most views but I think if you want to get a lot of watchers and views you'll have to comment a lot yourself and get yourself out there!. Look at the new images on the front page and make a quick comment!. I know I sometimes check out my commenter's art :) It's sometimes hard to get noticed in a sea of a billion images!. But if you're persistent and keep making great art then people are bound to notice!.

its not a popularity contest, just remember that!. as long as you like your work what does it really matter then!? but if it is important to you then i'd suggest to just be friendly to other users, go around and comment/fav other people's works or user pages!. i've gotten a few watchers doing that myself!.
and you can just keep practicing and people will start recognizing your talents and you'll get more watchers too!.
