Wowee, the previous answerer has not been having a great overview of Philippine culture in his life!. Although I've noticed a few of the same very human tendencies, they are balanced out by positive ones such as warmth and devotion to family, and in any case that all is much too abstract to depict on a display table!.

On a more positive note: You could lay out some textiles, if you have any, and a map showing the location of the Philippines with an insert or second map showing more detail!. Then you could arrange various items such as shells, handcrafts (basket, hat etc!.) and postcards and photographs of people!. Next to these you could place some facts about the different people who live in the Philippines and something about the language!. You could also include music and food!. In your display, you should be introspective!. Provide an honest insight into things that need to be addressed withinFilipino society!. Take an honest look at your culture--because most Filipinos don't have the courage it takes to do that!. Depict a people generally driven by over-riding insecurities that cause them to behave in bizarre ways!. As an American married to a Filipina, all I've seen in my in-laws is greed and envy (they fight or gossip non-stop amongst themselves over tiny inheritances, minor grievances and jealousy over what the other has that they don't)!. They act mayabang over every little thing, no matter how tiny or ridiculous!. When they come to America, they don't know how to behave!. My wife (like all her Filipino relatives) went on self-righteous mayabang spending sprees, putting us deeply into debt because she was never taught important things like self-discipline, self-control, honor, etc!. The Filipino culture is so lacking in virtually everthing, it's no wonder it's such a poor, morally bankrupt, corrupt and backward country!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
