Question: Can I have some help!?
For some reason, I can't seem to grasp adding creases to clothing!. Is there any way I can think about it in order to sort of know which direction to put the creases, in which places!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Alright check this:

(sorry about the odd tablet drawing)
First of all their are two aspects of a crease you must understand!. (bottom right) The Hill and the Ravine!. The hill is the peak of the fabric, most visible on the edges of the form!. This is where the fabric gets scrunched together and sticks up!. This scrunching causes the ravine which is where the fabric overlaps itself and creates a visual line of shadow!. An easy trick you can use to craw these is start off with the hills drawing them at an area of must tension!. In the arm drawing you can see there are many hills in the inner elbow, and an almost equal amount on the other side!. (the other side being less stressed has its hills spread out) In between these two areas, draw lines that mimic the shape of the form!. (like in the arm they have a slight curve!.
As for direction of creases!. (middle image)When a fabric has a loose end the creases will try and spread out a tad!. This spread is only to the natural width of the fabric!. Cloths cant spread beyond their own width (unless something is helping)!. Some people draw these crazy scarfs that end at like twice their natural widths!.!.!.!.drives meh crazy!. If tension is being applied to both end the creases will be evenly distributed among the areas of tension!. So If two people are pulling on either side of a towel!.!.!. http://ginaburgess!.deviantart!.com/art/To!.!.!.
One person is using both hands!. This creates two areas of creases that will meet at the other side!. The other side is being held by the persons one thumb, here the creases will come to a very fine point while the rest of the towel goes limp!.

There is nothing better then just drawing a sheet in the way you need!. Drawing from a live source will help you so much!. And it's fun (at least for me)!. Get a sheet, drape it on a chair, draw it!. Drape it on a basketball, draw it!. Drape it on your sister, draw it!.

And have fun

Well, you could start by copying clothes around you, that should help build up some knowledge of where to put creases!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
