Question: Is primacolor colored pencils the best product for coloring art if not what is!?

There IS no best!. It all depends on the effect wanted!. I used everything from crayons, to markers, to oils, to tempera and everything on up to my digital graphics applications!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That really depends on what you are trying to do!. Personally I love Prismacolors (although I have to warn you that the current version of these pencils is not nearly of the quality they were 20 years ago, when they were still part of Berol: if you buy them, be careful not to drop them the leads are fragile and will break inside the pencil and that's a PAIN!)

Anyway, they are very versatile, you can use them very lightly, or you can build layers of colors and blend them into each other very efficiently!. If you want to build color (and this is cool because if you work at it, you can get an almost oil paint like effect without the mess or drying time!) and layers, make sure to use a paper or board with some "tooth" to it, like a vellum bristol!.

If you want very smooth color, say for things like manga and comic book look, you may want to use markers such as the Coptic markers!.

Anyway, hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you go to your local library and look up pencil drawing techniques !.There should be quite a number of excellent
books on this subject!. You don't have to buy, just take out
one or two!. In the index or front pages, there are usually notes
on all of your options and what effect you'll get!. Even some
drawn samples!.!. Try to get the latest one's available, or just
go to your local art supply house and look through some there!.
That's how I got my feet wet!.!.!.!.Don't rush to buy expensive
items right away!.!.work your way up to your favorite style then
go wild!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
