KISS Guide to Photography is a simple book about everything you need to know when you first take on photography!. They explain things very well in that book and it's easy to reference back to something in it easily!.

EDIT: AH! You should totally buy it! I used it for years after I first got into photography!. I used it to teach myself one little thing at a time!. You'll really like it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I wouldn't worry about reading books as much as just practicing with your camera!.!.!.I have a hard time with books to begin with!.!.!.But just read your new camera manual and take it out and try new things !.!.!.Experience is the best teacher for me and I learn lots more than worrying about making a mistake because of what some book says!.!.!.!.
Now a days you can see all your photos in seconds and you can edit anything the way you want it now on your computer!.!.!.!.That is my hardest part!.!.!.I still suck at computer stuff!.!.and I am learning lots and have lots to learn yet!.!.I actually never even hard of flicker until you showed me your photos and now I have some on there of my own!.!.!.!.Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look for "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson !.!. it will explain aperture, shutter speed and ISO, and how they relate to each other, in a clear and easy to understand way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd recommend Scott Kelby's "The Digital Photography Book" and the sequel, Volume 2!. They go into lighting and posing, also!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
