Question: How would you crop this !?!?!?
Not the greatest image, but if you can ignore that, how would you crop something like this to create a balanced composition!? Using the rule of thirds !? Some other way !? I've attributed creative commons!.

I would try a vertical crop and use the rule of thirds to place the bottom bee in the bottom right corner!. I left you a note to show you what I'm talking about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually I don't think I'd crop it at all!. Oh, you might make a little improvement if you cropped part of the left side off but it would be subjective!.

The "Rule of Thirds" is certainly valid but last I checked it wasn't chiseled in stone!. Good Rule to know and one that certainly aids composition but not one I slavishly adhere to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The important element here is the bee!. Why give the flowers that much importance!.

If you want my 2 cents worth, center the bee and use it to compose the pic at leat 50%, and 50% flower!.!.!.Get some green in their!.

Otherwise, too distracting !.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Focus on the bee and then recompose !.!. just use your colour sense and design skills!. If you want to learn more about light, study the old masters and see how they used light to illuminate their subjects!. That and their sense of balance, you should "see" what "looks" just right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's nice as it is with the out of focus background making it almost 3D and the green leaves adding contrast and a bit of space!. Cropping it makes it look too 'busy'!. (no pun intended!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

the crop you have is pretty good but I would go a fraction more on the left to allow that cut off bud on that left sideWww@QuestionHome@Com

perki and alt both have some great crops there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
