There are as many good cameras as there are good photographers,Fotoace is right as always!.Some people find DSLR cameras a bit big and heavy, while professionals used to really large format cameras find some of them a bit light!.It all depends on the type of work you want to do!.If your budget is limited a cheap point and shoot will be OK for carrying everywhere and producing small pictures either for prints or for viewing on a screen!.Many small DSLR types are about on the market and many amateurs change their cameras like their socks!.Many good small SLR type cameras can be had for half the price of complex "Prosumer" cameras and they are often smaller and more versatile!. Go to a camera store, preferably not on a busy Saturday and handle a few, don't be afraid to say,"sorry this just doesn't feel right" if you are being pressured to buy by a pushy assistant!. Once you get the bug you may finish up like many of us with lots of cameras for different sorts of work!.Do not forget,it's what you point the camera at that makes the picture as well as the tool you use!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you want to learn "photography", you will have to get a camera that is fully adjustable!. What you are looking at is a P&S camera, which not only has a sensor that is over 15 times smaller than a DSLR, but is nearly fully automatic in its operation!. Photographers use the f/stops, shutter speeds, ISO and choice of lenses to capture images using photographic skills!.

At this time there are two entry level adjustable cameras !.!.!. a 35 mm SLR and under $470 DSLR

If you do not have the money to buy a fully adjustable camera, you can practice your composition of images until you can !.!.!. until then it doesn't matter what which P&S camera you buy as long as it uses SD or SDHC memory cards, because later when you do buy a DSLR, you will be able to use your old cards!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
