If you are interested in portraiture you need to invest in minimum of a four light set up!.!.!.main, fill, background and hair light!. You also need to understand the various light patterns and ratios that go with them!. Although you will probably not always need formal portraiture, if you are billing yourself as a portrait photographer, this should be the basis of your abilities!.

Make your own backdrops and get props from garage sales!. PVC pipe can make a pole system with light stands!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

>A good education, something of which takes time, practice, and real skills!. No piece of equipment will make YOU a better photographer!. Only practice and a deep understanding of photography will!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unfortunately, I am not able to answer your first question, but perhaps you could go to a photo studio in the mall (sears etc!.) and take a peak at their equipment!. A tip to get started would be to advertise your skills in the local paper!. Since it would not be a professional studio right away, you could not charge standard prices like a professional photographer, but it'd be a start to get the word around!. You could also work and while making money at your job, you could do photography on the side to better your income a bit!. Once the word is out how good you are you could pay off your current debt and once that is paid off, you could apply for what's called a "small business loan"!. Starting your own business not only requires money and talent, but also a lot of luck!. I wish you the best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
