The difference between the two is actually quite simple!.

White linen paper is a flat sheen surface, where as gloss is shiny!.

Gloss is used more for images and such, like photos for brocures and things of that nature!. They are more for display purposes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go here and look at my attempt to show the different surfaces!.

Glossy is shiny like a magazine page!.

Linen is sort of like the lustre finish shown on the right, but instead of being sort of pebbly, the surface texture looks like fine woven fabric!. Linen!.

Go here and scroll half-way down the page to read Mpix's description of linen finish!.

When I order cards from them, I've pretty much settled on the linen finish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

white linen is a semi matt finish useful in portraiture and glossy is, well glossy :-) ie very shiney, and useful in commercial work, both have their place in my paper store!. note that matt and semi matt papers are very much easier to retouch than glossy paperWww@QuestionHome@Com

Hmm i'm not sure but i'm guessing it has more of a paper-ish feel to it!.!.and gloss white is smother

I would prefer gloss whiteWww@QuestionHome@Com
