Question: A question about ligthing and stuff!?
I'm just starting to get into photography (13 yrs old) and I was taking pictures of my cousin for her myspace pic!. Well, Its kind of overkill to get special lights or go to a studio!. Whenever flash was off, she was blurryish, whenever it was on, Her skin was all white!. How should I do lighting in my home for taking pictures!? Should the lights be behind me, or in front of me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You were indoors!? The blurry is becasue the shutter speed was slow!. Not enough light!.

The whiteish-ness is from overexposing!. Too much light!. You were probably too close for the flash!.
One thing I used to do for flash pictures in the house was put a single layer of tissue paper over the flash!. It softens the light alot, takes away some of the sharpness of the shadows!.

Not knowing what your camera can do!.!.!.If there are adjustments, like speed and apeture, or just + and - exposueres, take lots and remember what you did!. Experiment!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try a three lighting setup!. I recently really started to gett into photography i start when i was 13 like yourself!.

It goes like this
object
* you *
*
you are in the middle of the lights and the object is a little bit in front of you
try kneeling down on the floor and tilting the camera up

dont always keep your object in the middle follow the rule of thrids and have her a little or the the right or left from the middle go from the side of her like this without her tilting towards you like this

o
you
* *
*

the lights will be closer than that to you and your object

Hope that helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com
