yo, risk it!. if you are talented enough to paint a picture, you can frame it yourself!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I went to a framer's and it ended up being really expensive especially since I paid for the mounting right there too! Since you have all the materials (it sounds like), it should be done right there, on the spot (or at least that day)!. I was thinking of Hobby Lobby, if you have one in that area!. Do you have an idea of how to mount and frame pictures!? Did you google it or anything!? See, that part I'm not sure of!. It seems simple, but sometimes certain glues or even mount baords/mattes have a tendency to bleed after a period of time, I would hate for the picture to get ruined!. If you want to do it alone, you could actually call the section in a store like that and ask which glues a person could purchase and what materials are best to be used and especially what materials should NOT be used!. if your issue is more one of measurements, I would suggest getting plain paper, cutting it to size, and glueing a photo you don't care about to it - and measure, measure, and re-measure!. This way, you know you'll have some practice in before doing it for real!.

good luck! It must be a special picture!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it's a standard size painting (9x12, 16x20, 18x24, etc), you should be able to find a frame ready to go!. Michaels has a pretty large selection, or another arts/crafts store!. They can be a little pricey, but it makes a big difference in the look of the painting!. You will also need to buy clips if your framing a canvas, or other materials to secure the artwork to the frame!.
Good luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mount board!? what for!? a painting needs no mount board!. Unless it is a watercolor, if it is an Oil or Acrylic!.!.!.!.
here is your answer, I usually go to garage sales, or thrift shops, and look for frames or paintings, and take theirs out, and save them for when I need them, BUT!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.
if I have to frame a painting right away, I go to Lowes or Home Depot, or a wood store, and buy strips of wood, they sell them by the foot, they have all kinds, I get a nice squarish one, and bring it home, measure the painting, and cut the pieces, and then I nail them on the painting, with nice small slender nails, then I paint the wood, either with an Umber or a color that complements the art, and spray it with any clear acrylic!.
The whole process!? it takes me longer to stand in line to pay for the wood, than to frame the canvas, Cost!? about eight dollars!. Looks!?, Beautiful!. Costumer!? Happy!. Me!? extra happy, I saved around five hundred dollars, give or take a hundred or two!.
Don't forget the wiring in back, and other things you should always have handy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

depends how much you like the painting :-)

i dont know where you live but here (uk, london) it's very expensive to get things framed professionally, i collect vintage movie quads and it's 100 pounds upward!.

there are some good online framers you can find like eframe, where you give the measurements pick the frame etc and it comes out about half the price, and they deliver the frames to you!. :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go to the salvation army store, or some other resale shop like that!. They always have really bad paintings for sale!. Usually around $2!.00 to $5!.00!. Throw the crappy art away and use the frame for your own work!. It may take a while to find the right size, but for future reference, it's a great way to get cheap frames!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Risk it! Framers cost a bomb!.!. Atlantic homecare and such shops hold frames for more than half the price and in all sizes!.!. I used to get my christmas jigsaws frames!.!.!.the last one cost me 50euro!. I then started going to atlantic homecare! Only paid 12euro for mine!Www@QuestionHome@Com
