It would help to know what camera you have!. If it has a "macro" setting, use it!. Your Owner's Manual will tell you if it does!.

I like to shoot "through" flowers - get behind the flower and look at the light illuminating the petals!. I honestly believe that was the inspiration for stained glass centuries ago!.

Use a longer lens - 100mm works well!. Even at f11 the background will be a soft blur unless the flower is right on top of it!.

Take your pictures from the side of the flower instead of directly head-on!.

Take all sorts of angles!. Use the foliage setting on your camera!. Get up close and personal with the flowers, and far away with interesting things behind it!.
