Question: What is the 'New reality ' of cubism!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Prior to the invention of Cubism (by Picasso and Braque), painting was a window onto the world; artists portrayed exactly what they saw from the angle that they saw it!. With Cubism, and after its invention, painters found that they were free for the first time to paint whatever they wanted from the scene, object, or person set before them!. They were no longer bound to copy texture, colour, and space; instead, each artist could decide for him/herself what he wanted to put into his picture, parts of objects, for example, or several views or angles of an objects depicted simultaenously in one picture!. This was the new reality provided by cubism!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is no "new reality" in cubism!. That's a propaganda idea put forth by artists of little skill!. You must understand two things about cubes: they are easy to draw, and they can disguise the fact that the artist who uses cubism is incapable of rendering fine details in a convincing and pleasing manner!. A cubist is someone who doesn't want you to know that he doesn't have the talent of a Rembrandt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Picasso was a cubist both analytic and synthetic yet his choice to pursue this path was not as a result of not being able to render things in a realistic and so called pleasing manner!. At age 12 he was able to render drawings and paintings in a traditional academic realist manner which were able to rival that of the masters of his time and time past!. Here is just such a painting, not bad for a 12 year old http://usushop!.com/product!.php!?productid!.!.!.
