Higher f numbers = Large(wide) Depth Of Field = Smaller Aperture = Small opening in the lensWww@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Yup you are absolutely correct! I only understood this whole aperture thing when I got my hands on the darn thing!. And actually trying it out!. And I was like oooh, so that's what it meant! Hehe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The aperture, also referred to as 'f stop'-can be confusing!. Think of it this way!. For example, a 50 mm lens f 2, the "f 2" means the aperture diameter is 25 mm!. Basically the f number is the focal length divided by the aperture diameter!. So the larger the "hole", the lower the number!. If there were a lens that is 100 mm f 1, its aperture would be!.!. kinda big, at 100 mm (10 cm)!. My Canon 100 mm f 2 lens--the aperture is 50 mm (5 cm)--it's heavy!Www@QuestionHome@Com You have it correct my friend!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yes you have it correct!.Www@QuestionHome@Com that would be correct, yes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Yup! :o)Www@QuestionHome@Com |
