Do you think colored pencil is an underappreciated art medium?

Question: Do you think colored pencil is an underappreciated art medium!?

Not many professional artists use colored pencils to create artwork, just usually school kids n the such!. Some professional artists do use colored pencils, such as prismacolor pencils, to create artwork but sometimes I think the art medium is not as appreciated as paints!. What does everyone else think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think paints get the most praise too, lately I have seen alot of local artists being praised for mixed-media as well!.

But I LOVE that type of media, although you dont see it being in the limelight!.!.!.I did this drawing a few years back:

I think it is under appreciated!. It is a beautiful medium and if executed properly, you really can't tell that it's colored pencil!. My opinion is, do what you like, and if others don't like it, then tough!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

pencils ARE under appreciated!.
you can do a lot with them!. shading and everything!.
if youre good with them, dont let the majority sway you, make some art!

A quality realism oil painting would be more appreciated artistically than a colored pencil drawing, in general, because oils require more skill to do really well and take more time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, it is way easier to use and does not bleed through and ruin your work like other mediums we know!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
