There are always a few different ways in Photoshop!.

You can do your type in a photoshop layer, rasterize it and select it, then save it as a new brush or new pattern (which you then fill the shoe with using the bucket tool) (add to your swatches)!. Or (this is probably easiest) you can do the text on one layer, stick the shoe layer right above it, select all the white fill on the shoe and delete it so the text shows through from the layer beneath!.

If your shoe is still in vector format you'll need to rasterize it too!. If you want it to be resizeable, then you should really pop over to Illustrator to do your type thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
