1!.) When did you know you wanted to be an artist!? 2!.) Were your artistic interests encouraged during your childhood!? 3!.) What led you to make art your lifework!? 4!.) How did you get into the professional practice of your art!? 5!.) As an artist, what education or training do you have!? I always enjoyed arts/crafts (it was my favorite part of Sunday School at church actually) and I think the commercial art class is what did it!. 2!. Always (except when I drew a big treasure map on my desk at school in pencil and the teacher got mad and made me clean all the desks at recess)!. 3!. I took a commercial art class in high school that was really fun and enjoyable and it was then that I realized I could take art combined with design and have a successful career!. 4!. Once I graduated I had a line of jobs that didn't end well but they all led me in a forward direction and all had to do with art and design!. Now I find that I can easily get new clients from just having my website up (google searches) and having a full time job as an Art Director helps as well!. 5!. I have an Associates Degree of Applied Business in Advertising Art from the School of Advertising Art!. They have four major disciples taught, one being traditional illustration!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Hi Sean, When were you given this task !? It's weekend and Monday is knocking!. Try searching the net for artists/painters/scultors directories and try e-mailing 2 or three of those artists!. It will be a bit difficult due to one of your answers, the 4th one, because most artists are not professionals (not in the sense as living mostly out of their are)!. And those who do are usually quite occupied!. Are these answers made up by you or are by default answers !? The 3rd answer is also somewhat pointed to a professional artist!. I am also a gallery member and have done commissioned work!. Some artist with degree have yet to get this far but i realize it's a school paper you are working on and understand why the degree thing would be a criteria!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
