Depth of field isn't determined by the body, it's determined by the user, and the lens the user is using!. as long as the nikon d40 and the nikon d60 have the same 50mm f/1!.8 lens ( for example) the images are going to be identical in terms of the amount of depth of field!. I doesn't matter which camera you have, as long as you're using the same lens, it's not going to matter which camera you have!.

Remember, the nikon d40/d60 aren't point and shoot cameras, the quality is determined by the lens you use, not the body itself ok !? :)!.

Oh, you have more range of ISO on the d60 compared to the ISo on the nikon d40, i think it can go down to 1000, and go up to 3,200 ( if my memory serves correct )!. But ISO doesn't matter when it comes down to depth of field, that's all because of aperture!. :PWww@QuestionHome@Com

The higher the ISO, what used to be known as film speed, the more sensitive your image sensor is to light!. The smaller the f stop on your lens and the depth of field will be greater!. If you want to throw the background of your picture out of focus, set the f stop to the widest possible!. For that, you might have to set a low ISO number!. You might also want to make sure that the distance between your subject and the background is far enough so that it will be out of focus!.

The camera body has little or nothing to do with this!. The D40 or the D60 will do this well!. The manual will tell you how to set the ISO, and that will be on the body!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Blurred backgrounds have to do with the aperture of the lens, not the body!. I'm not sure what part of his site you are referring to, so I have no idea what he's talking about!.

Maybe he is referring to the D60 having 100 ISO, which would allow you to shoot more wide open!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
