Question: Which company has the best film SLR!?
Okay so my problem is that I have a Minolta X-700 film SLR!. I love it and it works amazingly but Minolta has gone out of business and finding lenses is getting a little harder!. I'm thinking about switching to another body but i have no experience with other cameras and no idea which ones are any good!. I've heard that pentaz has a similar camera to the x-700!. So any ideas about what camera has a good balance between cost, quality and availability of good lenses!. Thanks so much!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the Minolta camera business is still going and expanding, only now it is called Sony!.
Your problem with lenses came when Minolta went Autofocus and change the lens mount so your lenses will not fit the later autofocus Minolta (or Sony ) bodies!.
I have been using Pentax SLRs since 1975 they hava made many fine film SLRs offering escellent value for money performance!.
Pentax have allways maintained a good backwards compatibilty with their lenses!.
I still use very Pentax mount lens I ever bought on my latest Pentax K10D DSLR!.

There are 388 lenses listed on eBay for your X-700!. Yes, some are teleconverters and some are brands you'd never buy but the selection is from 24mm to 800mm!.
Buying another body like a Pentax will simply mean starting all over again with finding lenses!.
As the owner of 2 X-700s equipped with the Motor Drive MD-1 I'd never think of parting with either of them!. If you really want to expand your ceative options, buy a Minolta XE-7!. It also features Aperture Priority but more importantly it allows multiple exposures with the flip of a switch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
I don't see any reason for you to change cameras!. I doubt that there is a shortage of lenses, I think you just don't know where to look!.

They should have a popcrillion lenses that will suit your needs!.
The list the lenses according to condition and I will say that they are conservative in their ratings!. That means that if you get one that says "like new," it is probably new!. They will not sell it unless it works!.

If you want a really good SLR!.!.!. one that feels awesome in your hands and takes pictures out of this world!.!.!. I have two suggestions really!. The Nikon F5 or the Nikon F100!. You will think you have gone to photography heaven!. The quality of lenses are, of course, wonderful!.!.!. depending on what you choose and there are literally dozens of them to choose from!. You should check out the Nikon F4 or N90s!. Nikon is still making plenty of lenses!. You will have no trouble finding a lens for those bodies!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
