A good b/w photo depends on what you are shooting!. For a face, the lighting and the good side of the face are most important!. We all have a good and bad side!.

Any black and white or color photograph is a good photo if it is pleasing to your eyes when you look at it!.

Some of the things that will make a photo pleasing to a persons eyes are good lighting, composition and proper focusing!.
