Question: Is an opinion without fact stronger than an opinion based on fact!?
Candii_jojo thinks that Performance "ART" (YOKO ONO - CR*P) is 'ART'!. I have studied art history and have a degree in art, including art history, working on a masters degree!. She doesn't know who Dali is, or DuChamp, or Rauschenberg, Pollock, Bennett, Alvarado!.!.!.

Even doesn't know what the Louvre or Guggenheim is!.

I believe you can start with an opinion, but it doesn't hold any weight unless you know what you are talking about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Art is Art for it's own sake!. It does not have to be a Pollock or Dali or Monet or Grandma Moses!. It does not have to framed and hanging on a wall or just sitting in a sterile museum!. Anything your senses perceive and respond to can be classified as art!. I'm not a fan of Ono, but admire her commitment!. As for Candi_jojo, her innate temperament and sense of loyalty and style help make hers an opinion of no small value!. You need to look again, my friend, formal education has blinded you from the truth!. Anything and anyone can create and appreciate art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know what all that stuff is either , a couple of things I know vaguely since I am mostly an uneducated artist but if she thinks it is art then it is art to her!. Art is anything you want it to be!. I love art!. If I am listening to or looking at another form of art like the symphony I can be inspired by it and it can get my creative thoughts moving to connect my art to the other art form I am focusing on!. All the arts are connected!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In case of Arts, especially Visual Arts, opinions matter more that anything, if they stem from the heart!. What pleases you, stimulates you , is ART!. Not something one hangs on the wall, just because some educated soul said it IS art, and you wonder everytime you look at it why is it called art!?

What are facts anyway!? Collective Opinion of few Informed elite!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

opinions aren't stronger or better than each other!. by nature they are opinions!. with all your fancy degrees you let someone called candii jojo get the better of you!. Perhaps logic and edumacation aren't all they're made out to be!.

This particular clip is kind of lame, i don't care enough to decide if it is or isn't art though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well the only thing is to discover these artists by looking into their work and seeing how they've contributed to this subject!.
that's like me saying something about what Larry king said about obamas wife last weekend!.
it's just what some peoples interests are and their knowledge is about!. she is very keen on politics and would most likely kick me **** on what was on cnn and that subject in general!. so its whats peoples niches are!.

(on a side note to everyone!.!.!.its a full moon tonite!!!!!!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Even before I read your addition to your Q I thought opinion based on fact is more substantial!. Why would anyone have an opinion on anything if they didn't know something about it!? If that person would be asked about the subject and their opinion and they didn't know anything they would come across as stupid!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's good to have opinions, but not to be opinionated!. You definitely have to have some knowledge about what you are talking about!.

But i have a hard time accepting DuChamp as art ( at least his readymade stuff)!. But just my opinion! LOLWww@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.doesn't know who Dali is!? yikes!.!.!.

I think you need some facts to support your opinion or else it will just cave in on itself!.

But yes!.!.!.art sometimes requires an opinion without fact( Ill be careful saying this because I refuse to acknowledge Wyland as art)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is stronger based on Emotion!.!.!.!.but weaker based on Fact!.
