Question: Did Andy Warhol make Campbell soup famous, or did Campbell soup make Andy Warhol famous!?

Hmmm!. Well!.

I do believe, that is to say, it is my opinion that neither made the other famous!. Campbell soup was already a well established soup distributor, so Warhol's art did nothing to change its status!.

And, though this piece of art was Andy's first piece that really got him noticed, it was not the content of the art that made his piece so remarkable, rather the way it was rendered!. Using such a commercial product in an original, repetitive way was what got him into the limelight!. Not the fact that he used Campbells soup cans as the subject!.
