By the way, if the time constraints aren't too strict, it's generally best to send a handwritten snail-mail request in addition to any email request you plan on making!. I've used this format and gotten replies from multiple artists and authors!. It works!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not clear if you want advice on emailing them for an in-person interview or emailing them asking to interview them by email!.

Anyhow:

1!. Reassure them you're not a stalker!.

I hope you don't mind me contacting you like this!. I was given your email address by ----------- or --- I found your email address in ------------

2!. Identify yourself and what you want!.

My name is ----------!. I am a sophomore at ---------------- and would very much like to write an article on you and your work for our art paper, such and such!. ----------------------------------------!.!.!.

3!. Why should they give you an interview rather than some other student they've already turned down !?

I 'm a great admirer of your work and would be particularly interested to know!.!.!.!.

4!. Show them where the article would appear so they know it's educational / for a young person starting out etc!.

I attach a copy of the magazine and hope you are able to find the time to let me know whether this would be a possibility for you or not!.
