How did i blend 2 photos using photoshop CS3?

Question: How did i blend 2 photos using photoshop CS3!?

I made a picture some weeks ago!. It was made up of 2 pictures blended together!. so they faded into each other!.

All i remember is using the Gradient tool!. But when I try to do it now, i get the gradient colour pallet thingy !.!. over the top photo!.

How did i fade the 2 photos together!? Ive forgotten and i cannot find the tutorial anywhere in youtube!.

anybody else know!?

Make sure your two images are on two different layers, Apply a mask to one of the images (click the layer mask thumbnail in the Layers palette) and then select the gradient tool and make a line using the tool over the edge of the image that you would like blend and drag the gradient across the image!. (Make sure the fore and backgrounds are set to black and white)!. On your mask layer, where it is white, the top image shows and where it is darker the back shows through!.
Play around with the placement of the gradient tool over the mask to get the best blend!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

are you sure they are blended together when I want to blend photos together I make a copy of the image and then lower the opacity of the image and just erase away the parts that I don't want to be overlapped!.

You can also try changing the blending mode of the top layer as well, that might give you a result you like!. Change the blending mode using the drop-down menu on the Layers palette!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
