Although it tends to vary between a couple of places usually Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Ceiling and Pablo Picasso's Les Demoiselles d' Avignon are rated highest amongst the top painting's of all time!.

Da Vinci's Mona Lisa usually ties in third place with Van Gogh's Starry Night but it's all a matter of opinion regarding which is the better of the two!.

'Admired' is a difficult word to use in connection with art!. I saw her in person two weeks ago, in a huge crowd of tourists taking photos (including me, of course) and found the tears springing in my eyes, although I have seen her reproduced in art books all my life!. Now, your question is also difficult, but I'd dispute that The Scream is admired! When I worked in a large national gallery, our particular collection of Rembrandts could be said to be admired more than anything, followed closely by Monet's Water Lilies!. i mean art is a feeling that comes from our heart and every artist puts that feeling in his work by drawing or painting!.
art it self is a beauty i don't think it needs rating or any number!.
