Got a few questions about the animation software Blender, anyone able to answer

Question: Got a few questions about the animation software Blender, anyone able to answer it!?

Does anyone have a simple walk through to the program!? Since I want to use it for my high school classes, but I just can't get how to use it, I can't even draw a 2-D brick on it!. And the only thing that I can make 3-D models is second life, which for me, I think it isn't private enough for me to keep what I'm making to myself!. =(

And is it a good idea to draw a sketch first befor creating the 3-D image a good way to create 'em!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most of the walkthroughs seem to deal with just doing a few specific things!. These are the text books!.
The first one will have you comfortable with it in less than two weeks at 45 minutes a day!.
(well, you really did not expect to learn blender in a half hour, right!?)
Sketching is always good, it gives you an image in your mind!.
