Question: Need help selling art in Portland, OR!.!?
My 70+ year old mother has amassed a fairly large collection of her landscape oil paintings, primarily done in palate knife, leaning towards impressionistic!. She's pretty good and has sold a bit in the past in her rural hometown!. The art I've seen in Portland galleries is more modern in style!. She expects only modest prices for her work!. As her daughter I'd like to have her work shown, but don't know where to start!. Any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start on Craigslist!. I have had a lot of luck finding coffee shops, and smaller galleries looking for art through them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Look for places that do small monthly showings!.!. little galleries, coffee houses etc!. Even libraries usually rotate displays!.
Keep you eyes open for notices of upcoming art shows you could enter some in!.!. alot of times they sell them at the end of the show!.
Galleries usually charge a percentage for selling the work!. also, there's a referance book you can buy or get at the library that's called "Artists' Market" that could help!. If there are any that you think are particularly good, you could have prints done of them or small postcards to market also!. Portland also has a Saturday Market (outside) during the summer!. She might try there (you rent space/ like a booth on the weekends)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
