Question: A good drawing tablet / graphic tablet for me!?
I've never gottaen/used a drawing tablet, but i've been drawing since I was 3 (i'm 20 now) and i've been using photoshop for about 6 or 7 years!. I'm looking to spend about 100 dollars and no more than that!.

I'm just wondering which is good enough!.I only plan to do "inking" on my original drawings as well as draw from scratch with it!. I need all the bells and wistles, but something that works and isnt too crappy in quality!. I also have windows vista (not by choice, but its not as bad as people say once disable all the annoying stuff)!.

so basically

Windows Vista
Adobe Photoshop CS2

Try using a Wacom graphic tablet!.!.!.they have various sizes that fit your budget I think!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubt you will find one of "good size" for under $100, ESPECIALLY if you want "bells and whistles!."

But I will offer this advice: I am one who does not agree that a larger tablet is better or any easier to use than a small one!. No matter what size tablet used, we ALL have to zoom in to work on the details!. If you have been drawing as long as you have been, then you should have good control of your fine motor muscles in your hand and arm!.

The critical factor is not the size of the tablet, but the size of the MONITOR!. The large image on the screen is what cues your eyes to tell what is going on at the end of your fingers!.

I have been using a four by six inch Wacom Pen Partner for over four years and have had no complaints!. Wacom still makes the equivilant, today, for about $100!. And this has very good pressure sensitivity, right and left click ability and more!. The only advatage of the larger and more expensive models is that the bigger ones have some keyboard functions built right in, such as the function keys, (F1, F2, F3, etc) and some will have "save," "save as," "open," and other functions!. (after all, a graphics tablet is not much more than a mouse)

I DID find another brand of tablet that works about as well as my Wacom!. I recently bought one at Computer Geeks!. ( http://geeks!.com ) It is a DigiPro that cost $49! I hooked it up to my grandkid's computer and it works terrific!.

It plugs into a USB port and works in any application that works with a mouse!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The cheapest one you can buy, of any brand!. there really isn't much difference between them all, especially if all you ever want to do it ink with it!. There are a few things you'll be missing from more expensive tablets, a bigger drawing area and a few negligable features like 'pen tilt', which would be fine if that's how you like to draw, but I personally never found use for that!. I've found 'pen pressure' to be more than enough of a feature for inking, and every tablet in existence has the pen pressure feature!.

But for $100 or less!? You'll never get a tablet over 4x6 inches unless you get lucky on ebay!. That is the smallest size of tablet and the only size available for under $100!. Even though it seems small, I've used one for about 7 years and I've never had an issue with the size!. I never 'run out' of drawing room or anything!.

Considering that wacom is selling the majority, if not all, of tablets out there, you probably will buy any of those!. For $100 the best you can hope for is one of the Bamboo brand tablets!.

I'm sure there are other tablet manufacturers but personally i've found it hard to find any products from any of them!. uclogic doesn't seem to exist anymore, i can't find aiptek or pablo tablets anywhere, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
