Question: Where to buy fake snow that looks realistic on movie film!?
Not sure if this would be the same type of snow you'd use in your backyard, or if there's a "trade secret" in Hollywood for faking snow!.
Any ideas or suggestions!? ThinkGeek!.com has some

There are several types of "fake snow" they use in the movies!. Some are chopped up plastic sheets, others are soap flakes, etc!. These are only available in very large quantities and would cost you way too much!.
The best way to fake snow on a small scale is with sugar or salt!. It looks great for table-top sets especially!. There is no way the camera can tell the difference between it and real snow!. As far as "falling" snow, you could also use sugar or salt, but make absolutely sure you protect your equipment from the falling grains!. If you need something larger, use powdered laundry soap or soap flakes!.

Try Ivory Snow Laundry flakes!. Large, shows up on camera, and doesn't melt!.
Hmm, I'm not sure they make them anymore!. Craft stores also sell fake snow!.
Artman's right, definitely easier to find than the Ivory Snow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
One easy and safe trick used in Hollywood is "mashed potato flakes"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
some people use corn flakes that are spray painted white and beat up a bit!. I've seen that a few times!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
