Its right if you dont want to do it, or if your not qualified, or you dont have the right equipment!.

If you dont want to do it, then your pics probably wont look all that great!.

I'm not saying that you suck, I'm just pointing out things that should be obvious to everybody considering shooting a wedding (the single most important day in the bride and grooms lives to date in most cases)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, if you've never done a wedding, you've got to start somewhere!. If you're interested, you'll never get the experience unless you take a job!. If one day you do decide it's worth it to get the experience either work with someone more experienced or with an assistant, and be sure to limit your liability for the first job or two!. If it's not your bag, sure!.!.!.!.!.the right thing to do is decline!. No sense doing a job you're not into!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you don't feel comfortable doing a wedding, then yes it's perfectly okay to decline!.

Though you will never learn to do weddings unless you actually DO weddings!. Ask another photographer who is a skilled wedding photographer if maybe he/she will show you the basics, maybe let you hang around them at a wedding shoot!.

Do what you feel right doing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everyone has to start somewhere - so why not!? If people are approaching you this regularly there must be a reason!?

I reckon you are experienced and knowledgeable from what I've seen here on YA, so the main thing is:
1!. Play to your strengths!.
2!. Find basic techniques that will help to mitigate any weaknesses!.

The main thing for most people is to get competent images - it doesn't happen surprisingly regularly and that is not rocket science!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes I get offers like this also!. However, I am afraid that they underestimate my abilities, because I know I'm still learning, and I know that a pro photographer would take way better pictures!. So I say no, but only because I think weddings are too important for me!. Just wait until you're a little better, or until you're comfortable enough to do something like that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with DL!. Assist another photog on a wedding shoot!. It is an easy thing to learn!. Then take on one on your own!. You just ask the wedding party what particular shots they want up front and go from there!. Get suggestions from other photogs as to what type of photos sell!. Most people will buy shots they didn't even know they wanted once they see the actual prints!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Assist on a couple, network with good people that will help you, if you need the cash and think your up to it or just about (with a little study or whatever), start taking bookings and open a swiss account!.

I think you need to be licensed as a justice of the peace in the state or municipality where you live or any wedding that you do will not be valid!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

why not pick up some side work for a wedding photog as an assistant so you can learn what to do and get some ideas of your own!? then you can do wedding work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Accompany another photographer on a shoot!.

it sounds like you are losing out on a lot of business!. And tips!. People tip big on their wedding day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do a couple of weddings as a second photographer for free just to learn how and what you need to do!.
then start making money at itWww@QuestionHome@Com

It is an experience you will never forget, especially when it comes to show the proofs and get the money!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
