Airbrushes will clog when the paint (especially acrylics) dries inside the nozzle and restricts the proper air-to-paint ratio!. When this happens, you often get splatters, then nothing at all!.

You'll need to clean the airbrush well!. For cleaning acrylic, take the nozzle apart & soak the parts in hot hot tap water & dish soap, and if that doesn't work, soak it in Windex!.

Keep the airbrush from clogging by swishing the tip in water before you take a break (even 5 minutes) and running some clean water through it, then cleaning thoroughly before you put it away!. Thin your paint, if needed, with Airbrush Extender instead of water - it does help a LOT!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

More than likely, it's just dirty!. Take it apart and give it a good clean and lube!. If that doesn't do the trick, it could be either the viscosity of your paint, or an air pressure issue!. It would help if I knew what kind of airbrush you're using!. With a siphon feed airbrush, you need your paint to be about the consistency of milk!. to thick, or to thin, will both cause you problems!. A gravity feed airbrush will be a little more forgiving!. As far as air pressure goes, a siphon feed requires much more pressure, because it has to draw the paint rather than push it!. With the siphon feed, you'll need about 35 - 40 psi!. With a gravity feed, I usually stay around 20, but for really tight detail work I'll take off the air cap and crank it down as low as 5 psi!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
