Question: Airbushing panels (black)!?
I was wondering where I can buy blank (black) panels for airbrushing!.
I guess they are thin sheets of aluminum!. I found them on some abing sites but they are like $10 each for small sheets and I also don't want to order online as ups has screwed me over a few times in the passed week!. hate them!. I don't think I ever saw them at home depot, maybe a craft store!?
I got a few anodized ones from work, tried to sand and paint black but the edges get sanded off easy, color doesn't look even, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm guessing you're using these for practicing true fire!. You don't really need the metal panel like Mike used in the video!. When I was learning the true fire technique, I found it better to practice on three dimensional objects like lamps, trash cans, bowling pins, anything that will accept paint!. It taught me to shape the fire around the curves and lines of the object I was painting!. Now every trash can and lamp in my house has true fire on it!. So grab Grandma's old lamp from her living room, paint it black and go for it!.

Oh, one more thing!. If you really want to paint on a flat panel, you can just use foam board!. It's very smooth and accepts paint very well!. You can get it at any art supply, and it's a lot cheaper that sheet metal!. The first few times you try the true fire it's not going to turn out so hot (pardon the pun) so why waste a bunch of money on something you'll probably want to throw out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
