universally speaking anything that requires good skill is considered art!. ex: the art of cooking, the art of karate!.!.!.
traditionally speaking this is somhow debatable, but personally design is just an branch of art, for it requires artistic skill to do it, if you to a college website and look under art majors you'll find all those careers that you mentioned and more!. so yes my belief is that yes design is art

Yes design is art!.!. Is it fine art!? Well it can be!.
It is a commercial "art" field!. There is no debate here on whether or not design is art!. Go to the Museum of Modern Art, and you will see graphic/industrial design there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
