Question: Are aftermarket Canon 5Ds the best value in 35MM FF dSLRS!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Well, looking at KEH, it seems as though used 5ds are running in the $1700+ range!.

Considering that with the current Canon rebates, one can buy a brand new 5D from any of the reputable mail order houses for $1900, I don't think that it makes much sense to even buy a used one!.

So, to answer your question-no, aftermarket 5Ds aren't the best value in FF DSLRs, new 5Ds are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would say yes, if you need FF!. It's been around for a few years, and an upgrade is planned but it's regarded as one of the best cameras for the money!. Brand new, they're as good as the $5000 Nikon D3 in terms of image quality, for half the price!. As far as what you mean by aftermarket, I assume you mean used and that is a case by case thing depending on how well it was taken care of by the person selling!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nope, get a new one! also be on the lookout for gray-market items!. Much of the time, you have to contact the vendor and clarify, especially if you are looking at purchasing new lenses!. You want to make sure that you have the metal fittings and not the plastic ones (which will crack and make you replace them more often)!. Buy new! Granted it does depend on what you are going to do with them!.!.!. Good luck on your search!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Simply the best upgrade at a fair price a cropped shooter can get!.
