Now I know my way around Photoshop like the back of my hand and even I couldn't begin to imagine how this person has produced images like this!. Did he sketch them first!? They're SO complex!. And so original!. I'm not sure if I'm creative enough (though I got A* in Fine Art)!. Please share any advice you can!? =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

OK, I just answered your other question, but now have a better idea what you asking, All three of these pics have vibrant color which plays up the pic considerably, on a pic like these I would imagine they started with the design first which starts by drawing all the design then coloring in the designs and then layering the light and darks to create the 3-D effect- These images play off the blacks and dark colors well which really gives it a unique effect!. The problem is that Graphic Art is not Art itself and through the years as a Graphic Artist, I have found very rarely do you find real Artists like myself that has grasped both the art and the graphics!. When I did work as a graphic artist for our daily newspaper I was sorely disappointed that I was not able to use my art very often!. So when you say you want to be a Graphic Artist, you need to realize what kind of medium do you want to go for and are you creative!? Artistic!? What was the A for!? These are works of art!.!.!.not as much graphic designs!. The old saying the Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step is just like art!. When I get an idea, even if it is a huge painting, it all starts at one spot!.!.!.and grows!.!.!.if you know who the artist is, go to them and ask!. I would imagine the artist in these layed down the main sketch first then went in and colored!.!.!.but it could be the other way around!.!.!.I do all different ways!.!.!.lay soft color, sketch, then detail over it which looks good too!.!.!.just play with it!.!.!.as far as graphic design, it can be very satisfing but be warned, it is extremely stressful and as an artist!.!.!.I dropped it to pursue art!.!.!.which is much more gratifing to me!. also if you become a graphic artist you better be ready to take continues classes because it changes allllllllll the time!. Just when you know your programs, they all change and you have to relearn them again!.!.!.and again!.!.!.!.and again,!.!.!.which to me is just a friggin money game on the programmers part, so have fun what ever you do!.!.!.art is love made visable!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your best bet would be to go to a local college and pick up a prospectus!. Basically a list of courses that they offer!. All art colleges will have Illustration andgraphic design departments which are desperate to get tallented people on to their courses!.

Ring up or visit the college and tell the recptionist that you want to enroll on a 'National Diploma' in Graphics/Illustration!. You will be spoken to by a member of staff or given a time to turn up for interview!.

Just take along examples of your work to show at the interview (That's important)!. Tell them how keen you are to persue a career in Graphic Art etc etc!. Hopefully you'll get on a course!.

The examples of work that you have given are very illustrative!. However, the college will be able to help you decide what course best suits your needs!.

I did the ND, then the FdA and eventually a BA and got a first in Graphic Design and Illustration!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm pretty sure they're done in Adobe Illustrator!.

He sketched them first and then turned them into vector graphics!.

Graphic design is so broad and it's best to do a foundation course or a national diploma at least so you can learn about all the different areas and this should give you an indication to what area you want to go in!.
Trust me!. I'm in the same boat :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Im an architectural designer and you'd be amazed what you can do on illustrator or photoshop!. I've done mulitmillion dollar resorts and homes and people can't even tell if they were hand drawn or computer drafted!.

Personally I hand draft everything, scan it in the computer, then use photo shop or illustrator to achive my desired look!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ask at your local college to learn!.

You can do anything on a computer even without sketching first!.

You can always get a job with the local graphic design company just look in your local directory and phone them to ask if they have any openings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
