i assume you are talking about digital cameras!? in that price range i would expect you could stretch to a Canon dSLR 450D!. I have the 400D and its great, although the kit lens is not the best, its good enough to get you started!.

The great thing about SLR cameras is their flexibility!. You can buy bits and bobs as you develop your skills!. A new lens is not cheap - but money well spent will reward you with great pictures!.

If you want an all in one camera, take a look at the Canon G9!. I have the much earlier G5 and I love it!. Whilst not as flexible as an SLR, it takes a great picture!.

The only other thing you might consider is some software to manipulate your photographs!. I can heartily recommend Adobe Photoshop elements!. Again, I use an earlier version, number 4 and its fine!.

So, if you want to spend a lot, go for the Canon 450D!.
Otherwise, the G9 I think will do a fine job for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For versatility you can't beat a DSLR!.All the major companies make them, although some people find them a bit chunky!.There are lots of camera clubs all over the country and while most keen amateurs want DSLR type cameras many of the members have smaller, compact cameras,Being a member of a club would increase your enjoyment of your hobby and most members would be only too pleased to show their pride and joys and the chance to handle cameras will help you to decide the right choice for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As you are already using an Olympus camera why not move up tp a better model say the E 510!. This has n umerous features which would cover your needs!. Top quality lenses
using the 4/3 system!. They are reliable, well made and good value for money!. I have tried nearly all the Nikon range,Fuji S3, Contax, Minolta, and so on during the last year, and have gone back to Olympus!. Happy hunting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The Pentax is an excellent deal, even if a bit over budget for you, but the quality and camera, and Tamron lens, are great!.
The 2 lenses you get, will do just about everything!.!.
OK!. I have a Pentax, smaller than that one, but if you want to see results, message me, and I will send you a link to my profile page on Redbubble!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If the FE-5000 isn't good enough for you!. Then I suspect no camera will be good enough!.

I am going to make this easy for you!. Get a Mamiya RZ67!. Superb image quality!. You will be impressed!. Thank me later!.

I have a nikon D80 and absolutely love it!.

Or you could go for a canon eos 30/30D and have a bit left for a really nice lens!. This is probably better than getting a slightly better camera- lenses are everythingWww@QuestionHome@Com
