I took pics of both of my children every month for their first year!. I would just prop pillows on a bed and cover with anything that looked cool!. Blankets, sheets, velvet, etc!.

My sister did one of her daughter crawling on her fur coat with pearls (buns up)!. It was cute!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Great posters Crissy

You can use white , or blacks or dark colors that can make the actual baby stand out!.

If they are still in the crib!.!.!.!. you can use the side bars and take a pic of the baby's face trying to look through it!. They usually get curious and you have a split second to take that ONE pic!.

Other good backdrops are floors, places where the baby cah try to reach to grab etc!.!.!.!.

Mainly, its that split second click that makes the difference!. babies are so natural as well as 3 or 4 or 5 years old!. The problem with babies is that they don't understand and will put on a face that you cannot aske them to repeat!.

One good technique is to hold a colorful toy above his head pass the horizon of his eyes!. He / she will try to look upp at it and that is where you take that pose!.

Good luck!.!.!.!.!. you can also open the fridge door, if the baby is 3 or 4 and take a pic of what he is trying to grab in the fridge!.
WHo knows, you might sell the pic for the product he is grabbing!. Companies look for this!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Kids almost never stay still, so It's a good idea to go outside and use natural backdrops!. You'll need something fast with a reasonably long zoom!. also you'll have to take quite a few shots until the kids lose interest in the camera!. Infact it's even better not to take actual shots but simply to point the camera and decide what angles and backgrounds will suit the child until they lose interest then start snapping!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I go to Jo Ann Fabrics and look for material there!.So if you have anything close by you that's a good place to start if you don't want to spend the money at a photography store!.

They have a ton of baby material there, clouds, and sheep, building blocks, ask at the cutting counter they will be more than happy to assist you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I put a pillow behind my daughter in her crib and surrounded her with stuffed animals!.

The lighting is the trickier part, you need an off camera strobe that swivels to bounce off the ceiling or wall!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For plane backgrounds, you can go into Wal-Mart and buy some white or black yardage from their $1 table!. Get a 4 yards and you will be good to go to shoot adults too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
