Question: How can I draw pictures with pencil without smudging the paper!?

Alright im and artist that draws with only lead pencils but i ALWAYS seem to smudge the paper no matter how careful i am, any tips!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can't really avoid by by working for an easel will decrease the chances of smudging!. Don't use normal rubbers to rub out mistakes, use the putty rubber types that you just dab onto the pencil drawing and it takes the pencil lines out!. (you can get those form art shops) Only use rubbers when necessary, if theres a mistake try edit it with strokes or cover it with another object

Fixative!. Before you leave your pencil drawing spray it with fixative to keep the lead in place!. It will lesson the chances of smudging =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you work on drawings for a long time and do a small area at a time or don't erase once down, besides the protective paper (or a thin stiff plastic panel as I use to keep from getting hand oils on the paper so my pen doesn't work), carry a spray can of fixative to fix the drawing along the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Take a piece of scrap paper and keep it covering the drawing area that your hand rests on!. That way the hand only touches the extra paper and not your penciled art!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
