Question: How do I learn to retouch photos!?
I have this picture that I love, but I notice this scratch on my arm, and some of my laugh lines take away from the picture, and every time I look at the picture I look at it and think "I wish those mistakes could just magically disappear!" As corny as it sounds Im a 'Paint' pro, I've made some pretty cool things with that dinosaur old software lol!. I'm assuming I would need a better software, (Adobe PaintShop maybe!?) and maybe a crash course!. As you can tell I'm a do it yourself type of person, (it saves alot of money, and adds brainpower ^!.^) so do not direct me to someone who can retouch the photo for me!. Thank You!Www@QuestionHome@Com

What a refreshing change to have someone who actually wants to learn how to do it for themselves, rather than the usual 'can someone do this for me' we get on here!.

The best software by far is Photoshop it has all the tools!. Having all the tools means you have to learn all the tools, so the learning curve is steep, and its very expensive!.

A cheaper, but easier to learn, package is Gimp, much cheaper actually - its free!. You can download it here;-

tutorials available here;-

and here;-

Entering 'Gimp' into a search engine will bring up lots more!.
