Some of that would depend on your budget!.!.!./!?!?!? I personally am a fan of Canon products!. So I would recommend any one of the Canon Rebels, 30D or 40D!. Again, depends on budget!. However, you will find anyone of these camera's "easy" to operate!. (The "easy" is a relative term here)

Most lower end models have an auto-feature!. They pretty much turn your expensive camera into a point and shoot!. The Digital Rebel XTI and Nikon D40 are good examples of this!. You can use both of them on manual-mode, and while it's not as easy you can get more creative in this mode!. A quick read of the manual, and another book or website on how to start shooting will help immensely!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have the Nikon D-40x which for all my needs is brilliant!. It takes good pictures and can be used without too much knowledge of the finer points of photography or DSLRs, however, when you want it to you can program it down to every detail!.
Its a great starting DSLR and its not stupid amounts of money!.
