Hi there!

Well, I am a decent photographer and have a suggestion for a digital SLR camera for you as an entry model!.!.!.

The Canon Rebel XTI!.!.!. It has VERY good quality photos, and a VERY decent shutter speed!. It is my pick for someone looking for a digital camera that you can inter change lenses (SLR) and has a fast enough shutter speed to take some great action shots!. You have MANY lenses to choose from too!.

It comes with one lens and for one additional lens I like the
Canon Zoom Lens EF 16-35mm 1:28 L USM (Ultrasonic)

Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

As far as DSLRs are concerned Sony, Olympus, Canon, Pentax, Fuji, Nikon and Sigma are all good choices!. Each one offers different features and benefits!.

However, IMO, before you rush out to buy any DSLR you should first take a few photography classes!. Learn about light and composition and shutter speeds and ISO and f-stops!.

Learning with a 35mm 100% manual film camera will place you ahead of the pack when you switch to a DSLR!. By learning to be in control of the camera you'll have more creative freedom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The two best (non-hasselblad/leica/mamiya ZD) DSLR's on the market right now are the Canon 1Ds Mark III and the Nikon D3 (and soon to be D3x)!. Both are the best for different reasons because if you have enough money and a purpose to buy either, you damn sure better know which one you need and for what you need it!. Generally, for stock and print/studio work the canon is the best for resolution - for sports and photojournalism the nikon excels!. Both retail for between 5 and 8 grand not including lenses!. For canon, any of the fast L series pro zooms and primes would be considered a perfect match to the pro body of the 1Ds, likewise for nikon!. On another note, my thing is this: For a first time buy, and you can't say you even know which is best and why, I wouldn't recommend buying either camera to be honest!. I mean sure, if you've got the cake to blow on one, knock yourself out!. But you'd be doing yourself a favor by learning or discovering why you need one of these cameras because you can't possibly have a need for either if you don't know what lenses to buy with it!. These things aren't toys, their required investment implies there is some purpose!. You wouldn't buy a lathe, just to have one, if you didn't already have a metal shop!.!.!.!.!.!.!.right!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best digital SLR's are the Canon 1DS MKIII and Nikon D3!. These cost as much as a nice used car though!.

If you are looking for a cheaper model look at the entry level cameras from Nikon and Canon!. Models to look at!.

Canon Rebel XT, XTi and XSi

Nikon D40, D40x and D60

These will range in price from $500-$1,000 with a lens!. Both brands are equal quality!. Go to a camera store and play around with them!. The one you like best that fits into your budget will be fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since you specified "the best" and not "entry level" I'm going to say a Canon 1D Mark III!.

As far as lens and accessories, they probably depend on what you are going to do, but I'd pick up an EFS 24-70mm f/2!.8L to start and a good flash with pivoting head!.

If that's too much money, I'd recommend getting an older used semi-pro camera like a 20D from KEH or somewhere rather than a new Rebel!. Megapixels don't matter than much and the prosumer cameras are just made better!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If it is a first time buy, just get a Canon Rebel with a 28-135 EF lens!. This will allow you to get the feel of a professional style camera and a much reduced price!. If you are still using film then get a Pentax K-1000 with a few lenses like a 28mm, 50mm, 135mm!.!.!.they are dirt cheap right now as everyone has dumped them for digital!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best camera around is the Hasselblad H3D II!. This 39mp medium format camera costs $37,000!!!
