Digital camera + ice hockey?

Question: Digital camera + ice hockey!?

What's the best digital camera for ice hockey photography!? If I were to go for a DSLR, I've considered saving up for a Nikon D40!.

But I would like to stick with an inexpensive digital camera that takes good quality photographs, if that can be done!. Any suggestions!?

The only problem with a inexpensive camera can be the shutter speed!.!.!. You will need a fast shutter speed to catch action shots!.
I have a Canon Rebel XTI, it is pretty fast, not quite as fast as a 35mm, but I can get some great action shots easily!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
