Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Oh you have hit a nerve with me!.!.I did not expect that question!. Art is subjective!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.highly subjective!. I studied that subject by the way and what is deemed "beautiful" by many!.!.!.!.!.well I have my own taste!. Went around enough museums, thought the Mona Lisa looked crappy, most paintings looked crappy; visited many castles blah blah blah!.!.knew how to describe a building like some kind of architect and the language - which goes with it- !.!.!.and hated it!. Art only speaks to oneself!. I respect other people's views and opinions but I have my own taste!. I have always been in awe of oriental art!. Absolutely love the delicacy, subtlety, intriquaty of it!. From furniture, to temples, clothing, paintings and whatever!. Don't know how to describe it really : the exquisite details paired with sometimes some kind of austerity!. Art really should not be convinced!. People should not be told what they should like or not like!. I can *objectively* look at some kind of art and appreciate the effort but if it does not speak to me, goes into my pores or something!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.it has no effect!. It has got to be felt at the soul level!. Surroundings influence me so much !! Living in ugly towns really depress me!. Beautiful ones really uplift my spirit no end!. I feel alive, full of hope etc!.!.!.!.!.!. I came back once from living abroad for a while in a very ugly town (for me)!. Won't say the name!.!.!.!.!.!.!.might insult some people to go back to an absolutely magical place for a while!. The town was like a living museum!. I admire beauty ( my own taste) in people, environment, everywhere!.!. The world has become so functional and countries trying to be "productive" or "avant-guarde" that much of it to me is totally neglected nowadays for the sake of profits, getting recognition, anything to attract attention!. I am curbing big time now not to buy pieces of jewellery just because I admire the beauty in them!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.me who ever wears any anyway!. Or really minimal!. I have lived in different towns, different countries, different places ( or at least visited them)!. Have in either awe or disgusted by some!. Funnily enough I do not have anything in libra but my venus in my own chart is very powerful!. It has sextiles and trines to most of my other planets!. Only with Placidus house system does it have a square!. oh!.!.I could go on forever now!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but have the ironing to do :-(!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Lately i have found myself thinking more and more about how much i love art!. I personally like realism that can have a meaning to it - usually some sort of emotional theme such as romance or loneliness!. I think the most important thing in a piece of art is that you can imagine the artist truely believed in what they were creating and that it meant something to them, and that they simply want to get their own feelings across to the audience!. I like to be able to relate the artwork to my own feelings as well!. However, i feel appearance is one of the most important things, as well as the meaning behind a piece of art!. I like some Art Deco simply because it looks nice but has no emotion behind it whatsoever!.
