Question: What do you think of this logo!?

It's a logo I've made for a college assignment for a teen organisation!. The word is "Young" in Norwegian, btw =) I had to use that word and make a logo out of it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My (very serious) critique is that it is much to elaborate and has too many fine lines to work as an effective logo!.

Think about all the places and sizes in which this logo may appear!. Will it work in a black and white, HALF INCH by HALF INCH telephone book listing!? I suggest that it would probably not!. The fine lines would run together into solid black areas and the last letter, "G" would get lost and unrecognizable!.

It IS a beautiful graphic, and would look VERY nice on an album or book cover, for example, but a logo should work, and be instantly recognizable ANYWHERE it may appear!.

One key word that should be repeated, like a mantra, whenever a designer sets out to create a logo is "simplify!."

My suggestions to improve it: The letters should be bolder (while still retaining the white outline, perhaps thicker) The decorative splashes should be limited to the three, basic curls and a single, liquid "drop" over the last letter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Very beautiful but if it is a teen organization for both boys and girls it is a little feminine!. also, the typeface does blend into the background a little too much and maybe should be bolderWww@QuestionHome@Com
