I prefer pencils!.!.!. you can get a lot more tones and details in with it, and shading looks fantastic!. It really makes a 2D image pop!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suggest playing around with both!.Pencils give you much more control, but chalks are fun too!. It really depends on alot of things, but best for you to expriment and enjoy these two very different media's Have fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pencils!.!.!.!. !.I LOVE to draw with them, i have won many awards that way!. Chalk not so much !.!.!.!.!.only if its the kind of picture that you can sratch the chalk off!.!.!.!. i forgot what they are calledWww@QuestionHome@Com

pencil definately!. ive never used chalk but if its anything like sidewalk chalk it may b 2 messy & unredictably 4 a beginner!. also pencils com in an array of shades w/ which u can shade!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
