Studio lighting for portraits?

Question: Studio lighting for portraits!?

What are things that I can buy from a craft or depot store that I can use to 'make my own studio lighting'!.

I currently have a Flourescent light that I use for my self portraits, but it doesn't put out enough light to shoot from a distance to do other peoples portraits!.

Painters lights or other work lights, but they do get hot so be careful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
