It is a way of honoring someone's works, or person!.

Putting together a scapbook of you parent's old photos and presenting it to them is a way of paying homage to them!.

Dedicating a film, book, painting or other piece of art is a way of paying homage!.

Sometimes, a parody of of a work of art is a humorous way of paying homage!.

Another example: Many science fiction writers create robot characters that use the Three Laws of Robotics which were first created by Isaac Asimov in the 1950s!. He never authorized, or permitted their use, but, any subsequent writer who used these laws, especially if the author cites Asimov as their creator, is paying homage to him!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
