I rarely e-mail photos!. I post them on a protected photobucket or webshots account and then send or imbed links!. People can see the photos with higher resolutions and it does not clog up their inbox with large files!.

You will be lucky to get even one photo at your full resolution to go through email!. It is just too large a file, and even if YOUR server lets it though, the recipient's server may not allow it through!. Even if it does go through, it will take a long time to load, use up the person's allotted storage space, and the person will have to scroll all over the screen trying to see the whole photo!.

So yes, you DO want the photo downsized for email!. 72 DPI is plenty, with pixel dimensions of about 800 on the longest side!. A JPEG compression of medium will look just fine on a computer!.

If you are sending just one photo Widows will prompt you to downsize or send original!. Select downsize and you will be fine!.
If you are sending more than one you will have to resize them in your editing program!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
